Compound or upright microscopes
A compound microscope comprises an eyepiece or eyepieces and a range
of objective lenses that view a prepared or slide mounted specimen.
The working distance is short, images are two-dimensional and
normally offer a
wide
field of view. Ideal for use in
colleges, universities,
general
laboratories,
hospital and medical applications

Education microscopes
Biological microscopes are
available for schools, colleges and universities which include
student-proof features to minimize loss of parts and damage to
microscopes. There are educational microscopes designed for
field trips, dissection and geology
studies; petrographic microscopes
for geologists and stereo zoom microscopes.

Inverted microscopes
Inverted microscopes for research
and medical use offer a choice of
stand-alone microscopes either
binocular or trinocular models.
Inverted microscopes
Stereo microscopes
A stereo microscope comprises a
lower magnification objective system
to view larger objects. The working
distance, specimen, size and
field of
view are large. Stereo microscopes
provide three-dimensional viewing.
Ideal for studying smaller
forms of
nature such as insects or
flowers
and pond life, make
stereo
microscopes ideal for school
science labs.

Digital microscopes
A digital microscope allows
the image to be viewed via a computer. There are two types of digital
microscope. A true digital microscope has a built in CCD
chip camera. Standard compound microscopes are often referred to
as digital if they have a digital
camera attached to them.

Digital cameras for standard
microscopes
A camera that fits over the eyepiece
of a non-digital microscope, allows
it
to capture the magnified image,
which can then be save to PC for inclusion in presentations or
emailed.

Document cameras
Visualisers or documents cameras allow the placing of documents,
pages of books, small 3-D objects such as rings, plants, field trip
specimens, etc. You then connect your projector to the
document camera so that image shines onto the projection screen, or
you can display the camera image onto an LCD monitor or plasma
screen. Some document cameras allow microscope attachments.
